The 1st Naoussa Short Film and Video Festival was held from 13 to 15 April 2004 under the aegis of the Prefectoral Local Government of Imathia and the Municipality of Naoussa, with main sponsor of communication the ERT.

During the 3-day Festival 28 films from all over Greece were projected, of which the 23 participated in its competitive department. The films were divided in two general categories; the “Stories”, in which films that belong to the field of fiction took place and the “Images”, where video art, video clip, documentary and other films of similar type were included.

A main characteristic of the 1st Festival was the correspondence of the people, which exceeded the expectations of the organizers (a fact that was obvious even from the 1st day of projections and that was continued until the last one). Due to this correspondence, the room that had been selected in order to accommodate the projections did not manage to satisfy all the people. The 1st Festival was completed in great success extracting the most flattering comments by participants, officials and spectators.
